Key Concept & Information Architecture
Validation
- User Testing
13 Students took part in our User Testing. We ran through some background questions, their university digital experience, and new design of Sydney Uni App
What do we need to know?
-
Do you feel connected or like you 'belong' to Sydney Uni? What helps or doesn't help with that?
-
Does this app meet your daily needs for university life?
-
Is the new app intuitive and easy to use?
What do we know from testing?
-
This is our first time talking to our app users or prospective users in person. From this, I gathered that students still struggle with simple things, but the new app design covers their needs, such as engaging with clubs, getting help, and navigating the campus.
-
Users find the content and features useful for building communication with the university, although they are still unsure if the content and features in the real product are tailored to their needs. Further data analysis will be required after implementing smart search and personalization.
-
The app has significantly improved in terms of usability and intuitiveness.
Development
We pay close attention to every detail in the design to ensure a high standard of interaction and user interface. We support developers in testing and debugging. Meanwhile, we've crafted an inspiring ICT Design System Version 1.0, which originated from the Sydney Uni app, will soon rolled out to to other ICT initiatives.
